New ordinances adopted at City Council meeting

Two new ordinances were approved Monday night during the monthly City Council meeting. One dealt with placing a stop sign at the intersection and South McCrate and West Main Street. The other dealt with trees overhanging or intruding public ways. The first ordinance reads, "....Whereas, it has been determined that it would be in the best interests of the public safety for the operation of motor vehicles of the City of Portageville, Missouri, that a stop sign be erected at the intersection of South McCrate and West Main Street to stop all traffic on West Main Street at that intersection.". ...
Woman faces child endangerment charges

I hope many of you had a very happy and safe Fourth of July. My family and I stayed home and I cooked a little. We did not shoot off fireworks because of how they affect our short four legged member of the family, our dog Droopy, the Bassett Hound. Besides, our neighbors shot off plenty. Droopy, bless his heart, had to protect us, mainly me, from the loud noises. He did not leave my side for any length of time. If you have dogs, you know what I mean...
