It's very easy to get depressed over the avalanche of miserable news these days. Few if any headlines point to anything even remotely positive or uplifting. But one small nugget of little-reported news is even more depressing and concerning than the daily diet of bad news. The highly-respected Pew Research Center has a new study that shows Americans are increasingly viewing Christmas as a secular holiday and not a religious observance. In the newly-released survey, one-third of Americans view Christmas primarily as a cultural holiday while 55 percent of Americans still see Christmas for what it is a religious holiday marking the birth of Jesus.
