Speakout
(Opinion ~ 09/18/19)
I noticed the council got together and ramrodded another rate increase on our water and sewer. I just thought it was a formality because of the old one come in they just thought we could renew it. But no they added more, after just getting done adding more on those same years. And now I noticed they got rid of the public safety director. People are going to get fed up. No wonder Sikeston cannot grow. It’s not for the poor. It’s not for the middle class. It’s for the ultra-rich. I’m sorry but the ultra-rich are not doing their jobs. It’s the poor and the middle class that are working for them. And without the poor and middle class Sikeston will not grow. I just hope something changes and the powers that be gets it through their heads if Sikeston wants to compete with bigshots like Cape, then you have to do something different.
