Portageville Police Department

On Tuesday, July 19, at 6:50 p.m. officers with the Portageville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on DeLisle Avenue for traffic violations. After identifying the driver, who was a 23-year-old white male, the officer learned the driver's license was suspended and the driver was later detained. After the subject was detained, officers conducted a search of the subject before transport. During the search of the driver, two glass pipes that field tested positive for methamphetamine residue were located. Also on subjects person was a clear bag of white crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine weighing 1.8 grams. There was also a black male passenger in the vehicle who was arrested on two outstanding warrants. Both subjects were transported to the New Madrid County Jail. The 23-year-old white male driver is being held pending the filing of formal charges by the New Madrid County Prosecutor.
