Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Alejandro Reed, a student of St. Eustacius Christian School in Portageville, was born in 2002. In 2009 with circumstances beyond his control, he needed a place to go after school for awhile. 1 or 2 days a week he came to the home of Ray and Jane Nabors. He was eight years of age in 2010. On a fall afternoon he was curious to see Nabors in a bee suit. He asked if he could go in the bees. Nabors talked with his father, Dennis, who said he would like for Alejandro to see inside the home of the bees. The next visit, Nabors took Alejandro and went into the beehive. The young man was fascinated and kept reaching in to touch the bees. A few minutes later a bee landed on his hand. Alejandro was stung by that bee. He bravely held back the tears. Nabor remarked "you are a brave lad, that stinger is a badge of courage."
