Anytime you get a chance to see the Harlem Wizards perform, there will be a lot of fun and excitement. Excitement was definitely the case last Saturday, February 18, when both of the high school basketball glass backboards shattered into pieces.

While performing their artistic skills and jumps, a slam dunk was performed by one of the players and the backboard shattered.

According to Christina Brands, the BETA Club Sponsor said, "Flight, the injured player, is going to be okay. He has a broken hand and will be out 6-8 weeks." She also said, there has been some concern over the backboards. "Swoop, the head player, told me that ours were numbers five and six on to the year, but it was the first time they had broke two in one night," she said.

As part of the show, the Harlem Wizards played members of the high school staff and high school ball players. The first board broke less than two minutes into the game, and the second one broke with 30 seconds left on the clock.

The Wizards are going to replace both backboards with no cost to the school. Fortunately, both of the high school basketball's regular seasons are over with.
