Rev. Leland Butler, 89
Rev. Leland Butler passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at his home in Portageville at the age of 89 years.
He was born Feb. 11, 1928 in Buena Vista, Tenn., to Lillian (Hargrove) Butler and Rev. Neil Butler.
He was united in marriage to Naomi (Barnes) Butler in 1948 in Camdon, Tenn. She preceded him in death. He later married Betty (House) Butler in 1999 in Portageville. She survives of the home.
Rev. Butler served as a minister for 61 years, and served as the Methodist minister in Portageville for many years.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Lillian (Hargrove) Butler and Rev. Neil Butler.
He is survived by his wife: Betty Butler of Portageville; one son: Leland “Paul” Butler of Bonne Terre, Mo.; one daughter: Karen Ruthe Seaber of Farmington, Mo.; one brother: Myron Timothy Butler of Buena Vista, Tenn.; one sister: Lorelle Kee of Chaster, S.C.; and 2 grandchildren: John and Madison Seaber.
Visitation is today (Thursday, May 18, 2017) at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow at the First United Methodist Church Hillview Cemetery in Farmington.
