Thomas Brown Sadler
Thomas Brown Sadler was born February 2, 1933, in Kentucky, to Thomas Collins Sadler and Faris Snedegar, and passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, at his residence in Portageville, at the age of 84 years.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Brasher, in Greenville, Ky., May 19, 1956. She preceded him in death August 7, 2016.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, Faris Snedegar and Thomas Collins Sadler; his step-mother, Thelma Elizabeth Coulter; and sister, Toni Sadler.
Mr. Sadler graduated from Murray State University, and held three degrees. He also served in the United States Air Force, was a mason, and member of the First Baptist Church. He wore many hats during his lifetime, and had several careers including serving as the town barber for several years, principal in North Pemiscot School District, some farming and carpentry work, and his last job was as director for the New Madrid County Libraries.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Thomas (Esther) Sadler, Jr., of Minor, Mo., and Shane Sadler of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Angela (Larry) Hill, of Portageville; three sisters, Theresa Lee Steele, Thelma Carol Miller, and Terri Sadler, all of Kentucky; and a host of other relative and many friends.
Services were conducted Thursday, November 9, 2017 at DeLisle Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Bradford officiating. Interment followed in Portageville Cemetery.
