Portageville School District baseball teams are fortunate to get to play on some of the nicest high school and middle school baseball fields in Southeast Missouri.

According to a post on the Portageville School District Facebook page, it says, “We appreciate this privilege and honor. Mr. Lee Richardson was key to organizing, acquiring sponsors, contractors, and the logistics involved with the installation of the scoreboard. Mr. Paul Fout, Mr. Chris Bates, and other crew members from Bruce Martin Construction Incorporated were gracious enough to volunteer their time and resources to acquiring and constructing the steel frame and installing the new scoreboard. Mr. Billy Cook volunteered his time and electrical knowledge to trenching the conduct and wire and wiring up the new scoreboard. Mr. Scott Foster also assisted with setting the steel supports and stabilizing the structure. Thank you once again to all those involved!”

Sponsors Richardson Cotton Co., Nutrien Ag Solutions, Legacy Equipment, ADM Grain, and BMCI assisted with the funding of the project. The Portageville School District and members of this community are very fortunate to have local citizens that care enough about their community and youth to volunteer their time, efforts, resources, to improving community areas.
