Thomas M. Grable
Thomas M. Grable was born December 10, 1961, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, MO to Dr. James D. and Virginia Grable of Portageville, MO. His siblings, Ann, Kaye, and Jimbo were eagerly awaiting the exciting day of the arrival of their baby brother to let the spoiling begin!
Tom was proceeded in death by his former wife, Crystal Grable in 2004, his mom in 2006, his dad in 2007, and his sister Ann in 2018. He is survived by his wife, Linda Nolen Grable of Portageville, MO; daughter, Amanda Johnson (Tommy) of Mason, TN; son, Matthew Grable of Eads, TN; his grandchildren, Isabella (Bella) Johnson and Ethan Johnson of Mason, TN, and James Doss of Eads, TN; Sister, Kaye Grable of Nashville, TN; brother, Jim Grable (Patti) of Hopkinsville, KY, as well as a host of very special nieces, nephews, and cousins!
Tom was always an exceptional student. He attended Portageville High School, then graduated from Wooddale High School in Memphis, TN in 1980. After careers in both the restaurant and music businesses, Tom devoted 13 years to being an entertainer on cruise ships. Music was his life…his passion! He was well known and loved by his “cruise followers”, agents, and staff of Carnival Cruise Lines. He always gave his best and will forever be remembered for his steadfast faith in God and his unwavering love and desire to make others happy.
After his sudden and brief battle with cancer, our grief is enormous, but our blessed assurance is eternal life together, again, one day.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 27 at his daughter’s church in Mason, TN. Rev. Buddy Ratliff, a cousin, officiated the service, along with Jim Grable and Mike Kossmann.
