SIKESTON — Marshall Henry Metcalf, 88, formerly of Bertrand, died Saturday, July 27, 2019, at his home in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 16, 1931, in Bertrand, son of the late Lloyd and Mary Baker Metcalf, he was employed with the Missouri Department of Transportation for 31 years where he worked as shed foreman at Risco until his retirement. He also served as a Pentecostal Holiness pastor.
On July 3, 1948, he married Julia Ann Hawes, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are five children, Catherine Asher of Buckner, Marshall Thomas Metcalf of Hopkinsville, Ky., Julia Anita Emerson and Beth King of Sikeston and Freeman Metcalf of Oxford, N.C.; one brother, Raymond Metcalf of Athens, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Marcella Metcalf and Martha Ann Metcalf; three sisters; and one brother.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. July 29 at the McMikle Funeral Home where services were at 10 a.m. July 30. Ira Sandefer of Sikeston officiated.
Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
