Missouri Mentoring Partnership to Host Career Night
The Missouri Mentoring Partnership will host its annual Career Night on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at the New Madrid County Resource Center, which is located at 420 Virginia Avenue, in New Madrid. Several businesses and organizations will be represented. Information will be provided about job opportunities, technical training, and educational opportunities. Skywarn Spotter Training
Have you ever wanted to learn more about Severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, funnel clouds, wall clouds, hail, lightning, downbursts Flash flooding? Now is your chance to become an Official National Weather Service Skywarn Spotter. The class will feature many weather pictures and videos as well as information on how to become a well-informed spotter. the class last 2 1/2 hours and all course material are free. It will be held on Thursday, March 21 at the Portageville Police Department located on 201 E. Main St. Class begins at 6:00 pm. For more information, contact Dave McClarty at 573-688-2942. Local FFA chapter to host crawfish and shrimp boil
On March 23, the Portageville FFA chapter will host their first crawfish, shrimp boil, and auction! The event will take place at the Portageville High School Cafeteria. Crawfish, shrimp, and dessert will be served at 4:30 along with the auction to follow at 6:00. The auction will include handmade items that the ag-education students have been working hard on in class and items donated by local businesses and independent distributors. Tickets are on sale for $20 each and your ticket will include all you can eat crawfish, shrimp, and dessert. Please contact an FFA member, officer, or advisor if you would like to purchase a ticket and support the Portageville FFA chapter! “We thank you all in advance for your support and hope to see you in attendance at our event,” said FFA advisor Jeremy Angotti.
