It's no closely-held secret that radio and newspapers have seen better days. Having built a career in the newspaper industry, I know firsthand how the media landscape has changed over the years, especially in the past few years with the elevation of social media. By way of example, you are obviously aware that this newspaper has reduced delivery days and moved much of our content to a social media platform online. This week, the two largest radio companies in the United States filed for bankruptcy. Those two mega-firms have well over 1,000 radio stations and the future of those sites is in question. Today's younger generation has no idea what this change means. The truth is, many younger folk have never known a world without social media of some form or another.
